New arrivals are choosing the Gables.
Keeping track of new businesses moving to Coral Gables is a good way to read where the city is heading — and this fall the arrivals are easy to spot. In the last few weeks, a New York restaurant group picked Merrick Park for its first location outside New York, a national yoga brand announced a Coral Gables flagship, and new names opened around The Plaza Coral Gables and on Ponce de Leon. Every item below was verified at write time from a published source. Carlos Vargas, who helps businesses compare Quest Workspaces options in Coral Gables, explains what these moves mean if you are thinking about an office here too.
La Pecora Bianca opens at Merrick Park on November 2
The clearest signal is at the Shops at Merrick Park. La Pecora Bianca, the Italian restaurant group with eight locations in the New York City area, officially opens its Coral Gables restaurant on Monday, November 2, according to The Burn Miami's October 29 report. The restaurant takes the ground-level space previously held by Villagio, and Coral Gables is the brand's first location outside New York City. When a New York group expanding for the first time chooses the Gables, it is betting on the customers, foot traffic, and staying power of this market.
The Plaza Coral Gables keeps adding new names
A few blocks away, The Plaza Coral Gables on Ponce de Leon Boulevard has had a busy fall. CorePower Yoga, which describes itself as the nation's largest yoga studio brand, announced on October 19 that a Coral Gables flagship will open soon on the second floor of The Plaza — the level known as fitness row — with two practice rooms for more than 70 mats. Rienne, a zero-proof atelier selling non-alcoholic wines and botanical spirits, has celebrated the grand opening of its shop at The Plaza, reported on October 28. And Zuccaly, the Italian food hall from Erasmo Da Silva, the restaurateur behind the Gables' Zucca restaurant, began its soft opening on October 8 with six food stations, according to its October announcement.
A cafe crosses the country to land on Ponce de Leon
The arrivals are not only large brands. The Screaming Parrots Cafe, a restaurant, dessert shop, and coffee house, has started its soft opening at 2626 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in downtown Coral Gables, The Burn Miami reported on October 26. The space was previously home to the Sospiro Wine Bar, and Screaming Parrots' original location is in Redmond, Washington — meaning this small business crossed the country to open in the Gables. Moves like these fill the streets around an office with lunch options, coffee stops, and places to meet clients — a large part of why professionals want to work here.
What new businesses moving to Coral Gables means for office demand
Each arrival adds employees, owners, and customers who work, meet, and spend in Coral Gables during the day. That energy supports the restaurants and services that make the city attractive, and it tightens the market for good office space: when more businesses decide the Gables is the right address, the best-located private offices and meeting spaces are claimed sooner. None of these openings is a Quest announcement, and availability changes over time — but the pattern is consistent. Businesses keep choosing Coral Gables for the same reasons office hunters do: a walkable downtown, an established professional community, and a name clients recognize.
Where arriving businesses put their people
A business arriving in Coral Gables does not always start with a large headquarters. Many begin with a private office for a small local team, a virtual office for a Coral Gables business address with mail handling and office support while staff work elsewhere, and bookable meeting spaces for client sessions. Quest Workspaces offers those starting points at two Coral Gables centers. At 121 Alhambra Plaza, Suite 1000, downtown, the center offers terraces, private offices, and meeting spaces. At 2525 Ponce de Leon, Suite 300, near Miracle Mile, it offers private offices and shared workspace options. Carlos Vargas works across both centers and can explain which setup fits an arriving business's actual first year.
Put your business in the middle of the Gables
If these arrivals have you thinking about your own move, start with how you really work: how many people need a desk, how often clients visit, and when you want to be in place. Carlos will confirm current availability at both centers, explain the options and full costs in writing, and help you tour the right space.
